2, 745 Steps Back

Oh, hello there. So glad you could stop by! What's that, you were interested in seeing the progress that I have made on my blue sweater? Have I got a surprise for you!Yup, that's it! I tore everything out, as I was muy disappointed with the cast-on edge. Any ideas/suggestions/advice? I'm wary of some of the cast-ons that I have been reading about, what with going into 1/1 rib, etc. Looking to get this back up to speed. You know, before the big snowstorm.......

I'll try and get some pictures of my Pink Floyd Laser Light Show scarf up here in the next couple of days - it's the first real thing that I've knit with yarn that I spun myself! And it is GUH-ross (colorwise)......

Aw man...

It looks very impressive in ball form.

What do you think of the crochet cast on? It's a little hard to maintain tension, but it looks like a cast off edge when finished. I also like EZ's sewn on cast on for going into ribbing...

I think Lucy Neatby has a video clip about crochet cast-on: http://www.tradewindknits.com/dvd_contents.html

At least, she's doing it with a crochet hook.

Btw, I love the idea of a Pink Floyd Laser Light Show scarf. You could totally sell Knitty on that. For the Rock Issue - I'm sure they'll think of that sooner or later.

Don't feel bad: that stupid pink stripey baby tunic I was working on at your place? Just found out that they are no longer sure about baby's girl-ness. And they were being so medicalized about the whole thing, I figured they were sure... So part of me is laughing. But part of me is pissed that I need to knit something else. Red. Red goes both ways.

And watch her pop out with girlybits.
